NYT in Brierley Hill Newsletter – July 2010

Last month:
 We are delighted that the Grantham Yorke Trust has recognised the continuing excellence of our work by giving us a second grant for Open Access and Playing Up in Brierley Hill. Thank you!
 The Director and Writer for the 2011 Knife Crime Prevention Project in Birmingham met with local organisations and pupil referral units to gain further information and stimulus material.
 We held Reminiscence workshops with Age UK for this year’s summer community project: Ghost Office and nine Age UK participants shall hopefully be in the performance, adding an intergenerational element to the piece. Thank you Age UK for all your support.
 Meetings with Dudley Archives, mean they will also be working with us on Ghost Office. A big thank you to Dudley Archives for their fantastic facilities and help.
 Some of the National Youth Theatre Staff took part in this years 5K Superhero Fun Run in Greenwich Park to raise money for the NYT Bursary Fund. If you would like to sponsor us please visit www.virginmoneygiving.com/kanehusbands and support us by sponsoring online. Thank you.
 We held recruitment workshops in schools and colleges in Dudley to promote Ghost Office, Thank you to all of those schools for their support.

We are currently working on…
 The productions for this year’s season taking place throughout the UK, and even internationally as we represent the UK at Expo 2010 in Shanghai!
 Ghost Office, this year’s summer community project starts this month.
 The summer Courses will be taking place in London, Good Luck to all of those people who will be joining an NYT summer course.
