Brierley Hill Book Launch, Methodist Church, Friday 2nd July 7.30pm – Ned Williams

Round Oak Train Stration 1962

For some time now Ned has been working with the Mount Pleasant Local History Group on preparing a two-volume photographic survey of Brierley Hill and its history. He is pleased to be able to inform you that the first of the two books on Brierley Hill is being printed right now and the intention is to launch the new book on Friday 2nd July. The book will be launched by Kevin Gripton at the Brierley Hill Methodist Church in Bank Street. (7 for 7.30.pm)

Ironically Bank Street itself will not be featured until ‘Volume Two’ as this first volume deals with the western portion of central Brierley Hill, Brockmoor, Bromley and Pensnett. (Vol 2 will cover the rest of central Brierley Hill, Round Oak, Merry Hill, Quarry Bank, Mill Street, the Delph, Silver End and Hawbush, and places in between!)

Lots of people have contributed to this project so Ned hopes many of you can come along to the book launch. At the launch the book is offered at a special price: £10 instead of £12.99. If you can’t make the launch but wish to take advantage of this special offer please contact Ned and reserve yourself a copy and it will be delivered as soon as possible after 2nd July.

Ned can be contacted on nedwilliams@toucansurf.com, or via me at editor@blackcountrysociety.co.uk

Ned’s book launches are friendly events so please feel free to bring along your friends. There will be a short slide show and some simple refreshments – and there will be plenty of opportunity to talk about Brierley Hill. If you have any queries or wish to order books do not hesitate to get in touch – even it means leaving a message.
