Adoption of the Brierley Hill Area Action Plan

Adoption of the Brierley Hill Area Action Plan

Dudley Council adopted the Brierley Hill Area Action Plan Development Plan Document on the 5th August 2011.

The Area Action Plan sets out the vision, objectives and spatial strategy for future development in Brierley Hill town centre, including the High Street and its environs, Merry Hill and the Waterfront Office complex, up to 2026 along with specific development block proposals.

The Area Action Plan was considered by an independent Inspector at an Examination in Public held 7th-14th December 2010. The Inspector found the plan to be sound subject to a number of minor changes. The Inspector’s Report was published on 18th March and the adopted Area Action Plan incorporates the Report’s binding recommendations.

Any person aggrieved by the Area Action Plan may make an application under Section 113 of the Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004 to the High Court on the ground that:

a) the document is not within the appropriate power;
b) a procedural requirement has not been complied with.

Any such application must be made no later than 16th September.
